Ultimate Beverage Challenge 95 points (Mar 2012) Dry sophisticated and muscular, with a density and power controlled by a toffee, cocoa and maple syrup sweetness; baking spice, eucalyptus and resiny, with a drying and peppery finish.  Wine Enthusiast 90 points (Jun 2005) Smells of sweet corn, buttered popcorn and pistachio nuts in the early stages; later whiffs pick up well-endowed scents of sautéed butter, oaky vanilla, beeswax and linseed oil. Palate entry is full-bodied, sweet and honeyed; at midpalate the taste profile turns drier, more intensely grainy-mashy and breakfast cereal-like.
