Founded in 2005, the Hesketh Wine Company is a small, family owned, South Australian based producer of high quality wines. Owner and winemaker Jonathon Hesketh has an impressive pedigree, having worked with premium brands such as Wirra Wirra, Moet and Chandon and Cloudy Bay. He works closely with local and international growers sourcing fruit from premium growing regions in South Australia and around the world. Hesketh produces two ranges of wines. Fruit for the modestly priced White Label wines is sourced from grapes grown only in dry farmed subregions of South Australia. Black Label wines limit vineyard and variety selection to combinations which are recognized for excellence. Each wine is either single vineyard or sourced from a small selection of specific vineyards and produced at facilities close by the vineyards for quality and practicality.

Tasting notes

Dark berry fruits, mocha, vanilla, cedar and coffeewith hints of dried herbs ripe, spicy with hints of vanilla, dark chocolate and spicy licorice on the finish. Neatly balanced with natural acidity and a persistent finish.

Technical notes

Fruit for this wine comes from the Currency Creek and McLaren Vale regions on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The vines are planted in the shallow red earth over limestone soils of the Mount Benson and Padthaway regions. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in a combination of neutral American oak (50%) and stainless steel (50%).
